#2 2015 Audi A7 Sportback – Strikingly updated to perform

Following a trend established by other German manufacturers, the Audi A7 represents one of the most successful entrants into the coupe-styled luxury saloon segment. Based on the A6, the A7 features the typical Audi face up front. However, the A7’s lower and wider dimension together with the radically sloped roof line gives the four door coupe the sportier look.

The Audi A7’s styling is unusual for sure, but chances are it will grow on you once you see it in person. The current model has been on sale since 2010. Audi has given the aging A7 a refreshed look both externally and internally. The spacious five-door coupe is now even more powerful and attractive thanks to new engine configurations, new transmissions, new headlights, taillights and new infotainment systems.

Aggressive front look

Re-design
The 2015 Audi A7 Sportback long engine hood, sporty, flowing C pillars and the sharply dropping rear end create a dynamic overall impression. The revised version of the five-door model, measuring 4.97 meters in length, now has additional striking, sporty features. The most striking changes are to the Singleframe grille, bumpers, tailpipes and headlights.

Sporty fastback profile

LED technology is now standard; upon request, Audi can supply Matrix LED headlights (first incorporated on the A8), which light the road optimally without causing glare for other road users. Combined with the Matrix LED headlights are the dynamic turn signals (first introduced on the R8) at the front and the rear. The roof stretches from the front right to the rear where it merges with the boot lid.  The 2015 Audi A7 features a rear spoiler that automatically extends at 130 km/h and retracts at 80 km/h.

The sporty style of the exterior is echoed in the car’s interior. The dominant element is the horizontal line surrounding the driver and passenger. The 2015 Audi A7 Sportback is confident and relaxed to drive. The front seats can be optionally equipped with ventilation and massage functions, and there are four seat versions to choose from.

Bang & Olufsen Audio System layout

The MMI radio operating system comes standard. The infotainment system car it can be supplemented as an option with a head up display that projects all important information onto the windshield. Appealing rear look
Verdict
As expected, the 2015 Audi A7 sizzling performance and exquisite interior refinement continue to feature prominently. The sloping rear hatchback’s added style and cargo flexibility do come at the cost of some rear-seat comfort. The Audi A7 continues to be significantly priced higher than the A6 saloon on which it is based. However, there is no denying that the Audi A6 will struggle to match the prominent look of the A7. Prices start at €51,300 in Germany.
