Audi e-tron (first version) |
To date Audi have launched three version of the e-tron. The first, which I really liked, appeared to be quite similar to the Audi R8. It is fitted with four independent electric motors on each of its wheel. This gives the car Audi signature ‘quattro’ performance. The four motors combined produce a total of 306bhp that propel it from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds! The top speed is limited to 200 km/h.

Exterior wise the unique shaped headlight provides a spectacle for anyone on the street. The headlights react flexibly to any situation. The headlight recognizes weather conditions and adapts the illumination to rain or fog.

The technology at the heart of the light assistance system is a camera that works together with a fast computer to detect oncoming traffic, recognize lanes and measure visibilities, such as in the event of fog.
The interior of the first e-tron |
What a great invention from the first car company to use LED’s on headlights. There are also large air intakes that open up when cooling system is operational.

It is also fitted with LED’s with give the e-tron an amazing presence.

In 2010, Audi launched a smaller version of the e-tron that has 312bhp. The new version is also available as a spyder with the same specifications as found in the first e-tron. Limited versions of the e-tron will be on sale to the public for a price of Kshs 19 Million excluding taxes.
