Jaguar XF and XFR

Jaguar XFR
Jaguar XF

December 10, 2010 was never marked as a holiday. At Cooper Motor Corporation, however it was a great day as the car firm celebrated the return of a feline in Kenya.

The Jaguar is back with a new the XF (it a replacement for the S-type) which combines past heritage and modernity. Jaguar has recently changed hands, from Ford motors to Tata. I almost shed tears when I heard that the company would go buss but the Indians saved it. Jaguar engineers worked hard to produce an amazing feline that is set to compete with German rivals, Mercedes and BMW.

Front view of XFR
My God have they done it! It has new 20-inch allow wheels, a new front-end design with revised chrome air intakes, ‘Supercharged’ hood louvers. It also has four polished exhaust tailpipes, an aerodynamically functional rear spoiler and side sills. The new XFR also sports discreet ‘R’ badge. The four-door XF has the visual excitement of a coupe, but room inside for five adults to enjoy an interior wholly contemporary in style yet uniquely Jaguar.

The rear
The Jaguar comes in two models the XF Portfolio and the sporty XFR. Under the hood of the XF is a 3.0 litre, V6 Turbo Diesel Injection engine. While the XFR has a 5.0 litre, V8 supercharged monster producing a whooping 510 bhp. The engine is has a six speed with paddle shifters. With paddle shifters one can either choose to change gears manually using the shifters or switch to automatic at the touch of a button.
The driving department

The interior brings back the legendary refinements that Jaguars have had for years. The cars interior consists of leather and woodcarvings that ensure one feels right at home on the XF and XFR. The combination of aluminum dashboard, satin or gloss wood veneers and tailored instrument.  It has door panels with twin-needle stitching, Phosphor Blue halo illumination and interior mood lighting. This set the Jaguar XF and XFR’s cabin far apart from its competitors with its exterior styling. Premium headlining, deep-pile carpet mats with contrast edging and logos ventilated heated and cooled seats complete the interior portrait.

Push the Jaguar DRIVE knob and it rises to fit comfortably in your hand to allow one to choose desired gear settings.

The front bucket seats offer support to the driver and provide the much-needed driving pleasure. The center console has an LCD touch screen that displays vehicle driving info like sat-nav, climate control, and fuel usage and operates the 20-speaker Wikins audio system.
